the question was:
"Does anyone has any idea of electric assisted bicycles in bangalore which can charge the battery while we cycle and then run the cycle whenever we are tired?"
to answer in layman terms, converting pedal power to electro-chemical energy and storing in batteries is not "powerful". most (99%?) of the pedal power gets dissipated into kinetic energy (the cycle moves forward), because of a charging mechanism (say a dynamo) the rest of physical energy exerted may be used to charge a batter (1.5 V?) and it may be good enough to be power a light source, but no more. therefore there is no current technology that enables charging a battery powerful enough to propel the cycle. all cycles require the batteries be charged from electricity outlet.
all cycle products today in the market require the battery be externally charged. i suppose that is what you are looking for...
Hercules e3 is one such cycle. Find more information about it here:
https://www.ticyclesindia.com/Hercules-e3.asp . they do not deal with it across all their outlets in bangalore but only a select few. it can only be fitted onto roadsters. it is available only on purchase basis.
Decathlon is working on getting the Btwin Elops 7 Electric.
http://www.btwincycle.com/EN/elops-7-electric-69011283/. they are looking to reduce costs (i suppose by indigenising a few of the products like the electrical kit.) this is appealing because, the battery can be removed, with ease and taken indoors when commuting for safety and charging.
Another option is to import kits from china/us. support/service is always a issue, and may cause distress if you are unwilling to take maintenance into your own hands...atleast until electric cycles exist in sizable numbers....

instructables i found interesting:
latest tech innovations (panasonic, sanyo, schwinn, concepts from volkswagon and lexus):
if cycling is a fitness activity, then electric cycles do not make sense. but for commuting a distance where you break into a sweat or do not have changing rooms at destination, it is a great alternative to use battery power while going to work and while returning switch to pedal power.
mahesh, why do you say its an utter waste? again, like i said earlier, for commuting electric cycles do make sense, but not from a fitness point of view
mayank, the weight of the batteries far out weigh the benefit of say, getting to meeting without a sweat and later break into it by pedaling a little heavy load at the end of the day.
amar, it is good to hear you are considering an electric bicycle. may your tribe grow. with only a bigger market, will the accessibility and availability of variety of electric bicycle grow, which follows innovation. if there is demand market, it will always be met by the supply side.
