Buddies,
Today morning one of our biker colleague sent a mail to our office biker mailing list.
He informed about a biker's accident in front of EMC office, ORR, near K.R.Puram. The biker was knocked down by a Tata 407 vehicle.
Local folks present nearby tried to nab it. Dont know whether anyone managed to get the culprit's vehicle registration no.
My colleague reached the spot after the accident. He told the biker was not wearing helmet and he suffered pretty bad head injury and his body was soaked with blood.
Someone had already summoned the Ambulance which thankfully came immediately and he was rushed to the hospital.
Anyone in this list know about this incident or have any updates about this rider? Wish him a speedy recovery.

Buddies, please give safety its due importance. Ride safely,

Rgds,
Nalla.

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

This kind of stuff makes me mad and it happens here too. My blood just boils when vehicles think they can just slam a cyclist and keep driving like nothing happened. So frustrating. Ride safe guys.

Ray

Any idea at what time this accident happened???
my office is just opposite to EMC2 office( i work in ST-Ericsson) and I take my cycle daily to office. I usually go on the service road and today i was there at around 9am. Didn't notice anything near EMC2.

this is really very very sad, i hope the guy will recover and ride a bike again and many more things!
guys, i personally think that  the ring road as i know it form Sarjapur to Kr puram to hebal and on to Y'pur ad down to magadi road is really bangalores most dangerous road  for cyclists, simply because cars hit higher speeds than anywhere else and there is no real left extrreme side emergency lane  that cyclists can use. this is the road were you get passed at highest speeds, and the fast guys are weaving through the lanes and take advantage of any softer spot,  god save you if you happen to come into the way.
on all other roads speeds are lesser ant that way safer for us.
please be all careful;  i hate to see such an accident ever, which isunfort most common place and happening  to dogs on our ring roadevery day a few dozen times!
be aware , and be aware always whats happening behind you, use all your senses and react to the warning noises  form behind, they are usually telling!
Georg

Thanks Ray, Ranjan, Muralidhar, George,

I am not sure when exactly the accident happened, the email doesnt say so, i had replied in the morning to the email but yet to receive an answer to it.

George, i use to enjoy listening to music (not at high volume) on my phone with headset while riding cycle, motorbike. I later realised that its not safe and stopped it while riding my byke. I have pedalled alone for 5 hrs + and still dont feel that i am missing it. Listening to one's senses is very essential.

I remember meeting a foreign national at BOTS once and he too was narrating his accident to Rohan which happened at inner ring road (between old airport rd, koramangala stretch). A Meru cab brushed him and sent him off balance. He too unfortunately was not wearing helmet and his head hit across the median on the left footpath. He blacked out and later came to senses when few folks where helping him out. He apparently fractured his skull :( He was out of action for months and had come to BOTS for buying a good helmet.

Rgds,
Nalla.

I also heard that there was fire opposite my office on Old Airport Rd. What a tragic day....

Keep you head up high. Your sense sharp.
