Morning heat was bearable, as winter has firmly set in. Fortunately, there was no social engagement in the skating rink hall, so students had no disturbance while learning.
The bicycles were out and ready which helped and the session was started before time !
*Ali* Showed safe braking to the whole group to start with.
*Safe braking :*
1.Apply both brakes, let cycle stop,
2. Left tilt,
3. Left foot flat
4. Right pedal swung to ready position
*Common mistakes :*
1. Both feet off the pedals before cycle stops
2. Not enough left tilt, right foot also on ground
3. Left foot multiple touch downs.
4. Left heel not touching ground.

*Batch 2*
*Rohit* . Learnt standing scoot.
*Kruthika* got reasonably comfortable with standing scoot and was managing to even sit on the saddle but lurching and fear was making her lose balance.
Taught one hand riding in preparation to signalling to the 5-6 better riders, who picked it up in no time !

*Shamala's report :*
Session 1: *Bharath* - Balance pratice. He is learning to scoot, made some progress.
Session 2: *Lavanya* (i might have got her name wrong, sorry). She can pedal and balances well. Her stopping needs to be more smooth. She also needs more practice with one hand balance.
*Sachin Biradar 's report:*
*Session 1*
Student 1: *Araiba*
Had the basics needed a bit of support at the beginning for balance. She was able to ride on her own within a matter of a few minutes.
Student 2: *Haajira*
She's learning to balance. Half pedalling helped her to understand some basics. Was able to balance a bit towards the end of the session, however, she tilts to the left while pedalling and loses her balance. She would need another 1-2 sessions to get a hang of it.
*Session 2:*
*Sanjana*
Much better than the previous session, she was looking forward while pedalling, she's able to balance a bit while scooting on one leg. She's yet to balance while sitting on the bike.
*Naga Prakash's report* :
*1st batch: Grade 6*
*Chaitanya* - she was able to pedal properly. Asked her to continue the practice
*Shivani* - She is picking up on balancing. Will put her on to standing scooting in next class.
*2nd batch: Grade 7*
As most of the students were pedaling on their own, was randomly checking up on all the students.
Grade 7 students who are able to pedal:
*Raju, Aravinda, bhavana, Amra Taj, Dharmi, Khushi, Suman, Haleema taj.*
Ali adds :
It was kind of HM Srinivas sir @Srinivas Sir HM BBMP Vijaynagar School to provide bananas to all volunteers.
Before dispersing, we discussed about where to teach next steps, i.e. turning, circle and figure of 8 for students to learn better control. It will be probably in the parking area, early part of the session.
To Tejatha ma'am @Tejatha Dult Some maintenance issues need to be addressed. Kick stands, seats turning etc.
Wishing great New year to all 🚴🏼♀️🚴
