01. Weaving Automata
The institute delivered a workshop to launch a software based on a recent research on Indonesian traditional weaving crafts in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (November 6th-9th, 2013). The software is made based upon the modeling of cellular automata into exploring motifs of traditional weaving designs, called "weaving automata". The participants were some small and medium enterprises of local traditional weaving artisans.

While the software was made under the research of the institute as the workshop of the Center of Complexity (CC) Surya University, the workshop was held by the Invasa Inc. in cooperation with the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

02. Demonstrating the Newsmedia Processing Suite in PPKI 2013
If you happen to be in Jakarta, Indonesia, please come and visit us in a national exhibition of creative products (Pekan Produk Kreatif Indonesia, PPKI 2013), November 27th - December 1st, in Epicentrum Walk, Jakarta, along with other the research and technology booths. The institute's booth is filled with some mappings. Maps of collective intelligence from Indonesian heritages, but also the special first public exhibition of Newsmedia Processing Suite (NPS).

The Newsmedia Processing Suite, a computational engine processing big data of all online internet media. This is probably the first semantic-based analytical computational engine in Indonesian history of computing. The idea is turning factors indicated by the online texts into sentiments among actors, be it public figures and all general celebrities. There has been a plan to release the client services for this product so that people can access the valuable information that is extracted from the great deal of the growing news broadcasted within the internet in short time. You will be notified later for the important dates in which you want to access to the data. 

Meanwhile within the event of PPKI 2013, public can directly interact with the institute's researchers staying within the booth, and can share together the excitement of findings and observation within research in complexity studies. Join us if you happen to be in town!
