01. The Institute in her 11th year of research
In October 20th, 2013, the institute has celebrated the 11th year of research for social complexity in Indonesia. Various papers, books, services, products, and software have been available in the long run activities of research. The three departments of research is working hard to make the best contributions in the evolving Indonesia. At the celebration held in simple internal gathering at the office, all supporting research institutions are also there: the AcroBatik (the batik producer with the “physics of batik”), as well as the Inovasi Anak Bangsa (Invasa), the entrepreneurial body for complexity sciences based information technology. In the gathering, there are two interesting soft-launch is held,
First, the xityzone.com, a portal where public can browse, stop, and buy things related to social complexity research from the institute. Be it simple scientific poster, books, accessories, and other products that the selling will be directly contributed to the research progress within the institute. You are welcome to shop there, and have yourself the personal belongings for research campaigns related to the Bandung Fe Institute.

Second, the Newsmedia Processing Suite, a computational engine processing big data of all online internet media. This is probably the first semantic-based analytical computational engine in Indonesian history of computing. The idea is turning factors indicated by the online texts into sentiments among actors, be it public figures and all general celebrities. There has been a plan to release the client services for this product so that people can access the valuable information that is extracted from the great deal of the growing news broadcasted within the internet. The first to hit public is planned the “Tali Merah” services. “Tali Merah” is a product to map the sentiment relations and interactions among Indonesian celebrities based on the “infotainment” channels in the news media.

02. The president received award from Ministry of Law & Human Rights
The president of the institute, Hokky Situngkir, received an award from the ministry of law and human rights of the Republic of Indonesia for the intellectual property of software emerged from the research "Physics of Batik" in Jakarta, November 18th, 2013. The award is given by the Ministry of Law and Human RIghts, Amir Syamsuddin, in the office of General Directorate of Intellectual Property, Republic of Indonesia.
The event is on the National Day for intellectual property and awarding other 9 invention, innovation, and intellectual property figures, such as the late Ibu Sud (national composer of children songs) and the late Benyamin Sueb (national artists).
