Not all fonts are supported in AE. For third-party fonts, you may have to uninstall and reinstall or find another source for the same font. Some fonts may work in Illustrator but not in AE. If your font works in Illustrator and you are not relying on text animators you could convert the type to outlines in AI and get that to work.

Great, so Whitney which my company purchased won't show up in my corporate video. Might as well toss it, can't use it if it's not branded. I completed the video promo and now Whitney is defaulting. Come on Adobe.

What is probably happening: The Renault brand fonts have the same "system" name across all the weights, meaning that Windows/Adobe sees each weight as the same font and is only loading one of them at a time. This could easily just be lousy craftsmanship on the font-maker's end. One way to test is to uninstall the italic version and see if a different weight is what shows up in AE (other than Italic). If this turns out to be the case you can try opening the font with a font editor (Font Forge or something similar) and re-saving as a different name.

I have to say, I'm yet again discovering a whole new batch of very annoying bugs in AE 23 along these lines. It seems as though any font in my imported photoshop file gives me the "font not available" message when converting to text. In some cases, looking at the font list in AE the font actually IS there, and the "missing font" shows up next to it as the name of the font with /font1 afterward for some reason. Even in this case, if I simply select the font from the list to show it that the font is in fact there, the font works except for SOME letters. wtf?

In other cases, it thinks the font is not there at all and doesn't even show up on the list. And in addition to the font issues, I had a ton of weird issues where aspects of my photoshop document didn't carry over such as drop shadows, adjustment layer effects etc. I bring photoshop documents into AE for a living and don't normally have these issues. They just started now with 23.

Combine that with having to downgrade Premiere by a version just to make it run at all, and it's another day lost to these programs absolutely sucking.

go through the creative cloud app manager. click the little dots or "more" next to ae and a menu pops up with something like "previous versions". it's stupid but i keep a couple versions of all the adobe apps because they all give me issues and this is now the first thing i try when looking to fix it.

I had this problem and the answer was much simpler. The one type that showed had no gaps in the name where as the others had gaps. So in my case by changing Sofia Pro Regular.ttf to SofiaProRegular.ttf meant I could see the font in After Effects.

I had the same problem and I solved it. In my case, the font that doesn't appear on AE font list is Montserrat. So, I just go to adobe font then type in search "montserrat" and click activate font. This worked for me.

I have the same problem. I import psd with text as composition in AE and choose CREATE/CONVERT TO EDITABLE TEXT. After this AE start to read this font and the problem was gone. It was not nessesery to import fonts never again.

I had the same problem! so im solved has using FontForge to change the name and format to the same information to the font thats work and adding the variable name (bold, regular, black, ... ). I generated the otf/ttf file then installed and it was appears available in AE

hello,i'm kinda new here, but i really hope someone read this and help me..i use After Effects cc 2018
basically,i can't move my keyframes, nor highlight them (clicking),nor Easy Ease them,i'm also having problems with the graph, whevenever the error happened,i would highlight the keyframes (click and drag my mouse around the keyframes),go to the graph and drag the edges of the graph, because then the keyframes would also move, but now i can't move any of them..when i try to click on the graph an error text appears saying "after effects attempt to get an item address from a position outside of list length, error code 27:15"
someone please help me

I don't really get what you meant by system but, about my project, the video i wanted to make is very short, and has lots of effects and transitions, for my surprise i practically had no lag issues when making it (which happened a lot on the last version i used before cc 2018,cs6),and the project is almost finished,my only problem was the error 27::15,and it also happened in cs6. in the project,i only used videos, but i freezed the videos in the frames i wanted so they would behave like a normal picture, not a moving video(Time > Freeze Frame),it's just a preference of mine when i want to make my edits

when i clicked on the red lines of the graph, this is what appeared, and i can't edit the graph unless i highlight the dots that make the L shaped line. that didn't happen before, and it's annoying me a lot..but my other problem is that i can't move nor highlight my keyframes (rotation, position, scale, etc),that's what's annoying me the most

Time remapping and animating properties at the same time don't go well together. You might want to pre-compose your remapped clip before applying your other animation, the simple reason being that your time remap likely produces empty invalid areas somewhere that throws off the other properties.

Adobe After Effects is a tool developed by Adobe to compose, animate, rotoscope any visual content. The software is ideally used by production teams and artists for various post-production activities. For example, for designing 3D content, a video producer can use Adobe After Effects for animation and simulation effects, particularly for films, video games, etc.

Additionally, Adobe After Effect holds 2.2% of the market share, with 59% of the customers based in the United States, out of which 6% of customers are in media production, and 7% in marketing and advertising. On top of that, the software has been used by companies such as The American Red Cross, Terr Cycle inc, MSLGROUP, QA Ltd, with several others.

After-effects shortcuts include some basic and advanced levels, but once you get the hang of it, it can help to boost your workflow. Moreover, these shortcuts differ slightly in Mac and PC. You can use Command and Option instead of Alt and Ctrl alternatively if you are a Mac user.

This could be done by moving the cursor to adjust but without the accuracy of edges. In this regard, using a shortcut key for fixing this After Effect can save your time of manually changing the object to bring on the anchor point. You can use your keyboard keys Ctrl with your mouse by double-clicking it to overpass this hassle.

You can use your keyboard keys as a shortcut. For example, you can press P for positioning your objects, S to scale or resize your objects and shapes, R to rotate the object upside down or the other way around, and T for opacity to bring up the required parameters.

If you want to create keyframes for the selected layers, you can use your keyboard keys such as Alt + Shift + P, S, R, or T as shortcuts. These key shortcuts are personalized for making a keyframe for each layer by bringing up changes such as position, scale, rotation, opacity separately.

Suppose you are looking to add up a new solid layer into your layers, in this regard, instead of going to the menu option and clicking for adding new layers. You can press the keys on your keyboard to jump off this hassle. The Ctrl + Y key will put a new solid layer instantly.

Along with adding a new layer, you can also make adjustments to it with your keyboard shortcuts. With Ctrl + Shift + Y shortcut key, you can create seemingly minor details, but it adds up over time if you use this consistently.

Moving frames in your playhead can be tricky with your mouse since it can lag sometimes and take up your time. However, you can move your edges with keyboard shortcuts not to one but ten frames at a time by simply pressing Ctrl + Shift + Arrow.

If you want to trim the layers in your playhead, the adobe after-effect shortcuts can do that for you at this instant. The shortcut can be used by selecting the layers on the current timeline and pressing Alt +. This shortcut is convenient; however, it could skip the current timeline if it is not highlighted before pressing the keys. Apart from that, this adobe after-effect shortcut key will work efficiently for you if you need to cut down the size and shapes of your layers.

However, you can boost up this technique with your after-effect keyboard option. Having said that, you may have come across the untidy process which gets too fast or too slow for you by moving each keyframe to adjust.

You can mitigate this hassle and select and highlight all the keyframes you need adjustments for by pressing Shift and arrows to select the area to highlight. After doing this, press and hold Alt and then click and drag the entire set of keyframes with your mouse to stretch it propositional.

Having said that, the F9 key on your keyboard can help you to effortless ease your keyframe. You can select a single keyframe or multiple keyframes and then press F9. This effect shortcut can be used by pressing function 9 for Mac users.

If you are looking for a clip of your film /video on your keyframe not to duplicate it repeatedly, then this after-effect shortcut is for you. This short opens up an interpreter footage toolbar for your current file, and you can have various footage interpretation options in it. For example, managing hues, time duration, PAR, frame rate with only one press!

However, you can mitigate this time-consuming process by merely pressing K for jumping on to the next Keyframe to work on instead of clicking separately on each keyframe. Similarly, if you wish to go back to the previous keyframe for making some changes, you can press the 3 or J key to go back and carry it out.
