Maharashtra - A Failed State

I don't know who the Author is but I totally subscribe to his view point.

The Maharashtra Sadan incident involving Vichare is symptomatic of the sheer arrogance and ego of politicians in Maharashtra that has developed in the last few years.

Irrespective of Party, politicians in Maharashtra have changed drastically from what they were before. Both humility and reason are long gone. The fundamental reason for this transformation may be the Pawars, be it Sharad, Ajit or Supriya, but the Shiv Sena, MNS and Congress are happy to follow the NCP in ruining this once well-run State.

All of them believe that they own the State and that its their private fiefdom. The rule of law has collapsed. All Public projects are means to accumulate crores of bribes that go into their pockets and which is shamelessly shared between all of them. It has become difficult to distinguish between Pawar, Gadkari, Rane, Kadam, Athavale, Thackerays of both varieties, Praful, Bhujbal etc etc because all of them get similar stuffed suitcases from whoever is in power.

The bureaucracy in the State is probably among the worst in India today. Public services are corrupt as hell (and I speak from my Pune experience).

What a fall for a once proud, progressive and efficient State. And yet, some fools keep talking of the so called Marathi Manoos pride and stuff like that. There is nothing to be proud about Maharashtra any more. Its a failed State.
