Hi,
In the settings - context menu - I checked "compress to<File name.zip>" and "In the settings, context menu, I checked "compress to<File name.zip> and send by mail".
When I perform these operations, it is not (no longer) the file name that is taken into account, but the folder name.
Thank you.

Hello, this is Bandisoft.

On the context menu of Bandizip, the function to create an archive having the name of a specified file is available only when you right-click on that single file. If you select multiple files and a single name to represent all of them is required, you can create an archive having the name of the parent folder. Not only Bandizip but almost all archiving software products including 7-Zip and WinRAR also work in the same way, and we ask you for your deepest understanding that we have no current plan to change this behavior of the app.

Hello,
I was indicating "no longer" because it seemed to me that, under win 7 and 8.1,I just had to select several files and point the mouse on one
of them to create an archive with the name of this pointed file.
My memory is probably failing me.
Thank you for your quick response.

Hello, this is Bandisoft.

To have the app work in the way you have described here, you may try to configure the app's settings as follows:

Settings (F5) > Context Menu > Others (Scroll down to the bottom) > Use the file/folder name selected by the mouse cursor when selecting multiple files/folders
