"From Luxembourg and Belgian Luxembourg to Banat"  is an attempt to follow the direction of the emigrants.

In addition to the emigrants, the focus is also on their ancestors, who are also ours, as well as their descendants, as far as they are available in our database.

The basis of the people listed in the family book are those who were born in Luxembourg or Belgian Luxembourg but died in Banat.

Including ancestors is not a problem due to the limited amount of data, but including descendants is. Here we had to make a cut due to the large number.

Whether we will add further generations over time remains to be seen. We intend to do so.

The allocation of places to Luxembourg and Belgian Luxembourg may sometimes be wrong. The data is also partly fragmentary or has gaps that still need to be filled. “Luxembourg and Belgian Luxembourg” refers to today’s Duchy of Luxembourg and the Belgian province of Luxembourg.

We have taken into account the districts of Bitburg, Trier-Saarburg and Bernkastel-Wittlich, which once belonged at least in part to Luxembourg. However, it is doubtful whether all of them belonged to historical Luxembourg. Despite all the shortcomings, we hope to be able to make a further modest contribution to finding and allocating our ancestors.

This is a free PDF for download. It is 1,205 pages.

You can easily return to the Table of Contents at any time by clicking on the header or footer of any page.

The Acrobat Search function is particularly good for finding village or name information. However, with such a large file, searching for common names will take some time... So be prepared! Also, setting the page size to 75-100%, has proven its worth. The PDFs is for 'big screen' use.

We highly recommend perusing the entire website. It is very well organised and contains much more information about the whole area, the culture and traditions. As they say on their "Wir" (We) page "...Have fun browsing and do not forget, we are grateful for suggestions and contributions. Please contact us." email: erichmuelle...@t-online.de
