Hi Mark,
Thanks for encouraging me to try bananajour on Linux.
One thing I found surprising was that Fedora (and presumably redhat)
appears to have a different list of avahi-related packages.
A search for all packages with avahi in their name apparently came up with
avahi
avahi-autoipd
avahi-compat-howl
avahi-compat-howl-devel
avahi-compat-libdns_sd
avahi-compat-libdns_sd-devel
avahi-devel
avahi-dnsconfd
avahi-glib
avahi-gobject
avahi-gobject-devel
avahi-qt4
avahi-qt4-devel
avahi-sharp
avahi-tools
avahi-ui
avahi-ui-devel
avahi-ui-tools
kdnssd-avahi
kdnssd-avahi-devel
mod_dnssd
nss-mdns
systemtap-server
So, for example, there's no package called avahi-daemon
Bananajour seems to be mostly working after I installed
avahi-compat-libdns_sd-devel , though sometimes it's trying to do
stuff with computername.local , which I haven't got set up.
Thanks,
Andrew
