Got Hotspot working on the Jio Phone !!!

I got hotspot working on the Jio Phone by making a certified app that enables it.

Currently the only way to change the hotspot configurations is by editing the config in app.js in the application package.

Not a HTML/JS pro.

Sorry for poor featureless app.

Yeah, I'm having some problems with jquery, but I'll figure it out soon, I was thinking that before launching an app, we should try making a zip update which enables the tethering in settings default.json file.

Yeah. I couldn't install it on my phone. Today I installed OmniJB on my friend's phone. The main reason for jailbreaking his phone is to get hotspot. Sadly our app didn't work. When I checked for updates on his phone, it had the latest update. Whereas when I check for updates on my phone, it downloads an update and fails to update as the /system partition is modified. This shows that my phone is running an older version. Thank God Jio didn't change the keys. My plan is to flash his phone's system partition with my phone's system partition dump. This will help in getting our app working on his phone. Both of our phones are F50Y. There's nothing new in that update.

yeah, fk it, let's make a cutsom rom. Let's modify the firmware so that it's easy to flash and remove the ota urls.

We can remove the OTA URL's with a certified app. I think...

We can read or edit the update URL's with this deviceinfo.update_channel

We can enable or disable auto updates with this gaia.system.checkForUpdates

Got hotspot fully working on the Jio Phone.

I enabled the "Internet Sharing" option in the settings app.

I did this by setting "tethering.support":true in "/system/b2g/default/settings.json".

But a factory reset is necessary to apply the changes.

New method. No messing around in the system partition.

No factory reset.

Just install this app and launch it.

Then you will have "Internet Sharing" option enabled on your Jio Phone !!!!!

Got jio phone hotspot working via jbHotspot app but it cant turn off hotspot have restart device to turn off. Also internet sharing option not showing in settings,after flashed enable stuff zip.

Don't flash EnableStuff.zip

Install it via OmniSD.

Then launch the app and the changes are made.

Quit the app and check for 'Internet Sharing' under Networks tab and 'Developer' under Device tab.

@lyf120, I fear that aromafm will not work with the Jio Phone F120B as it's recovery does not accept test-keys.

That's exactly why, you were unable to install OmniJB via the recovery.

It did not work in lf-2403n. I request u to make a spare perfect app to turn on and **off hotspot plzzz . Many of us are facing such problem.....

Did you install EnableStuff or JBHotspot ?

If you installed and launched EnableStuff, check if you got Developer options under the Device tab.

For testing purposes, you can use the app from the first post of this thread that works but does not allow you to change the settings like JBHotspot.

But you can change the settings before installing the app at app.js

Enablestuff.zip shows dev options but not internet sharing .
Both jb hotspot and your app are working .
But main problem is to turn off hotspot without rebooting.
*plz make any app to turn off hotspot (without any problem)

In my cash I install jbhotspot and hotspot not off after rebooting. always on . I turn on wifi to stop hotspot but that also consume battery.

second AdvancedHackerniv1 sir you make the app for jiphones which only require single userdata to work omnijb but in my case sparse userdata images works so I think these types of jiophones required some modification to enable internet sharing option. thanks

I'm not sure.

If "Developer" has appeared, then "Internet Sharing" should have also appeared.

It might be Jio who has removed the "Internet Sharing" functionality itself.

It should have appeared under the "Network & Connectivity" tab.

ok you may be right because some newspaper spread the news that jio will testing hotspot and provide in next update. And see jio removed the internet sharing option in January update. jbhotspot v1.1 not work for me but v1 work. I have problem in hotspot that I restart every time after enable hotspot then the hotspot appear in other devices. other stuff are ok . thanks

You can switch on and off Airplane mode to turn off wifi-hotspot.

And can you tell me more about the news about Jio introducing hotspot on their Jio Phones ?

sir actually airoplane mode turn off hotspot but when I switch on hotspot using jbhotspot the icon appears but other devices not detecting hotspot . when I restart phone other devices detect hotspot well . that's the problem. 

The call center of jio denied the news but on internet most newspaper reported this on 7th January to yesterday (I come across news yesterday also). thanks

@Advancedhackerniv1  I think jio will give hotspot because now there is no difference in internet packs on jiophone and other smartphone except Rs 49. So what is the use of restricting user from hotspot if your pricing is same!

This is the older version of the settings app of the Jio Phone which has the hotspot functionality.

Install it via OmniSD and check if there is "Internet Sharing" under "Network & Connectivity" tab.

And the most fascinating thing is that when i open internet sharing all the options appears but gone white after one second.

Hi, nayam sir and advanced sir, I need your help regarding activating hotspot on the f90m model. Though omnisd stopped working, a app named settings, probably ported from Nokia still managed to run hotspot and debug pretty smooth. But I uninstalled it by mistake, foolish of me.

But, in the new firmware, the latest one of f90m LYF-F90M-000-03-30-101019 , I can still install omnisd by flashing with modified userdata 1 to 28 , as I could install omnisd before. The thing is, I know little about kaios development, and my thought is that, that settings and omnisd , they both are apps,right? So as omnisd is still installable by flashing, (though it doesn't work), if you guys can please develop a method to install that settings app by same flashing method, it would solve all problem, like hotspot or debug, for all.

Please do look into it.
