Hello,

I hope someone is still happy hacking KaiOS?

Just would like to know if anybody has tried the systemwide proxy setting, i.e. "network.proxy.xxx", on KaiOS 2.5.

The thing is, I have an Alpine system chroot in my Cat B35. The Shadowsocks, and even Tor, seems to be working - I just SSH into the phone, go into the chroot shell, start them as service, exit the chroot, then enable browser proxy to point to the HTTP proxy inside the chroot.

I haven't tried the systemwide option yet. Worst case scenario I guess, SSH would be disconnected and I can't get any connection. I can use a slightly modified CrossTweak (thanks Luxferre) to turn off the proxy settings and a slightly modified Terminal Emulator (thanks Affe Null) to stop the proxy server in the chroot, and tell myself nothing happened. But is that all? Does anyone have experience what would probably go wrong?

Thanks.

Sorry for the late response. I just wrote a wiki page on connecting to a proxy server system-wide, which you can read here. I set this up with mitmproxy on my computer, and traffic did flow through the proxy.

Basically, yes. You can also use it to connect to an internal company network, or monitor the network traffic through the phone.
