I purchased a Gigaset GL7. It has the Kaios 2.5.3 operating system. My aim is to record phone calls because I am often in the car and I have seen that on kaios (from version 2.5.2) it is possible. I found the product quite OK, it is a German product and has a very good price.
I don't understand very well whether I should root or rely on other "guides". The fact is that I have spent hours and hours testing but I can't. In practice the debug icon appears. With the second code (*#*#0574#*#*) I can enter the log configuration and enable them all. But when I arrive with WEBIDE (ADB OK command) it always says waiting for browser. I open the browser on my phone but nothing happens. Do you have any ideas? Do I do a file transfer with ADB, edit the file and send it back to my phone? If anyone can help me (even for a fee) let me know. Thank you

Did you manage to get ADB connected to the phone (showing as a device)? Which WebIDE client (Firefox 59, Pale Moon 28.6.1, Waterfox Classic etc.) were you using and which apps were you trying to sideload? You should be able to just open Device Settings in WebIDE, search for callrecording.mode and set it to either on (press D-Pad Left to record) or auto.

Hi Minhduc,  with ADB it connects regularly but with the various browsers it is unable to open WEBIDE. Within a few days I'll try to do more "precise" tests (versions of the various browsers) and I'll update you... but it's as if the browser was waiting for something on the phone. I'll update within two/three days. thanks for now

I attach some screen shots (jpeg files) of the problem with web-ide. Then with ADB I tried to read the files from the device and (I attach some.txt files) I wanted to try to find a configuration file in order to modify it. Unfortunately there are many folders that do not allow access. I also attach a log I made of the connection established with ADB
LOG-VARIE.txt
01 - DEVICE ATTACHED.jpeg
04 - ERROR - PROBLEM WAIT FROM BROWSER.jpeg
Abd_Shell_Grep-r-stringa.txt
05 - VERSION browser.jpeg
02 - ADB IS ok ENABLED.jpeg
03 - adb FLAG OK.jpeg
lista__adb-shell-find.txt
06 - with waterfox - different version but identical problem.jpeg
logcat.txt

It appears that you were using WebIDE in the latest version of Firefox Nightly and Waterfox (the original one) to connect with the Gigaset GL7. Note that WebIDE on those browsers only works with more recent versions of KaiOS, that is 3.x, and thus is not compatible with KaiOS 2.5.3 running on your phone.

Try using WebIDE in this browser instead: https://classic.waterfox.net and see if it helps.

as I said at the beginning it reports a version error. That's why I had PaleMoon and Firefox Nightly installed. but with these browsers, on the browsers themselves it reports "wait for browser" and does not connect. As far as you know, are there any other "tools" for Windows to access the device's files? (WinScp... or similar...)

Ignore the version error. Per Sideloading and debugging/WebIDE on BananaHackers Wiki, "[...], you may now see a warning header about mismatched build date. You can safely ignore it as WebIDE was mainly designed to support Firefox OS device builds released alongside that Firefox/Pale Moon versions." You've got the phone connected, and it'll show this every time. Now, click on Device Settings by the right pane, search for callrecording.mode entry and switch it to either on (press D-Pad Left to record each time you make a call) or auto.

As I've said above, WebIDE in Firefox Nightly and more recent variants of Waterfox is designed for newer B2G versions found in KaiOS 3, and not KaiOS 2.5.3.

If you're still bothered by the warning, there's a guide to use a command-line tool called gdeploy in another BananaHackers Wiki page.

I minhduc-bui1,  Sorry if I wasn't able to test for a month but other more important problems took precedence. I'll tell you a little about how the problem goes. I can't simply "see" the error because in any case when it continues the mobile phone remains disconnected. I spent another 3 hours trying with getdeploy (command line) as suggested but still I only get errors. I was thinking... what if I mailed you the phone? I would also attach the return ticket (and the compensation for the work). Do you think it's possible? Where are you from?. If it were possible I would send you an email to receive your "physical" address. I'll have to get back to work in a week or two and the phone that records me would be very helpful.

I'm not sure what you meant by "the mobile phone remains disconnected" (I can tell from the earlier screenshot you sent that you've successfully got the GL7 to work) or what errors you got with gdeploy. It'd be more helpful if you can provide the logs or tell me what exactly happened.

Also I'd rather you not sending me any devices or compensation at all. Doing so is against BananaHackers' ethics, as with any other South Asian guys posting YouTube videos to promote paid services and making profits based on our completely free tutorials.
