USB tethering the 8110

Is there a method known for USB tethering the 8110? I am on the latest GerdaOS rom. The settings screen doesn't show an option for USB tethering; maybe it is still possible to do that by running something on the Android subsystem? I see that with WiFi tethering enabled, the subsystem runs a 'hostapd' process.

USB tethering is already in the settings. Go to Connectivity > Internet Sharing and right at the bottom you'll see settings for it.
