so the 8110 4g doesn't support png fonts(i'm starting to get disappointed of hmd for abandoning the phone) but it supports glyph type fonts.. newer phones support png fonts but idk why hmd didn't implement a way to make it work(found a jazz digit 4g(kaios 2.5 ) firmware file and the emojis are the Noto Color)

if you jailbreak you can replace the /system/fonts/NotoEmoji-Regular.ttf to get more working fonts

Here are the fonts so far...

1. Segoe Emojis - 80% of the fonts work, it is colored, not allowed to be distributed and copyrighted it has more emojis than symbola because it is being updated more frequently... but if you have a legit windows 10 install you can get it at C:\Windows\Fonts 

2. Symbola - it has no color and idk when was the last time it was actually updated fonts can be downloaded here. idk if the otf file works on the 8110 but this ttf file from github works it's not from the author though...

3. Noto Regular - it's on github last updated on 2015

4. Android Emoji(the ones used on kitkat and below) should also work i haven't tried it though(looks ugly af)

 also inserted a text file full of emojis if your ever gonna modify the emoji font 
you could also test the emojis through the browser but.. i wouldn't recommend it.. it lags so badly..

to install the new fonts 
make a backup of the system partition..
rename the ttf file to NotoEmoji-Regular.ttf
get root access using wallace toolbox
remount system as rw adb shell mount -o remount,rw /system
adb push NotoEmoji-Regular.ttf /system/fonts/

it's not that much of a research tbh... i just searched up black and white emojis, and this came up... and then just searched up about how fonts work..

not work on energizer e241s, still see regular symbols

Android 11 emojis will not work... since these can of emojis are PNG based emojis

Hi! hello there.... so.... just an update to this.... i have found an SVG type emoji font that works for KaiOS

which is Twemoji aka Discord emojis
