Hi folks,

So, following the FastContact announcement, I decided to continue the development basic app suite for the future GerdaOS versions, but these apps can also be used fully stand-alone on non-rooted devices. And this one is FastLog: https://gitlab.com/suborg/fastlog/

Please carefully read the README file. It follows the same UI principle as FastContact, featuring T9-like search and call blocking list management. You can also perform a one-time import of existing stock call log records upon the first installation (and phone reboot, due to a bug in KaiOS preventing other apps from seeing an already open DataStore). Afterwards, the two call logs work in parallel and don't intervene with each other.

Please note that this is still in the early development. If you have any questions regarding the app, feel free to ask them here.

Stay tuned!

Hi Luxferre,

Just curious, do you have any plan to add a simple settings menu to these fastsuite apps? It might be nice to be able to have a setting to turn off notification toasters, for instance (perhaps options of "all", "none", "errors only"?), and that might be a good place to put the less-used functions likeone-time import and reindex, for instance. Just a thought.

FastLog has been updated to 0.0.7 with the fix to load correctly on the devices where call blocking API or internal log storage is not exposed (like Nokia 8110 4G).

As for the settings menu, this would complicate the UI, and I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.

One more small suggestion, perhaps some sort of visual indicator of which number corresponds to which item in the menu? E.g. "1. Add to new contact", "2. Add to existing contact", "3. Message", and so on. Or perhaps in smaller text in the corner of each menu entry or something. Either way, a way to easily know what key to press to do that action quickly.
