In such case, wouldn't porting
the API from another device running 2.5 be an easier solution?
(There's an Alcatel Tracfone - 405dl, similar hardware, but running on
KaiOS 2.5)
Process is probably similar to what was done in the past with 8110, to update v12 with v13's API.

I would suggest that you don't
try doing this before you have a complete system.img backup + a working
firehose loader, otherwise, if this test will damage your system how will
you revert back...?

Hello Ivan,I'll attempt that now and report back.
Hoping the different SOC's don't make a difference. 8905 for the 8110 versus the 8909 in the Flip 2
Thank you.

dd if=/sdcard/recovery-backup.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery
mount -o remount,rw /system
cp -fR /sdcard/webapps /system/b2g
cp -f /sdcard
/install-recovery.sh /system/bin
Now that the changed API doesn't work, he is probably stuck in a boot-loop or the phone freezes at the welcome screen.
So, even if adb works, he won't have root access as long as he doesn't click ROOT_ME in Wallace, which he can't...
In such case, the easiest (and
probably only) way, would be by re-flashing the system.img backup in EDL
mode - iirc, Luxferre uploaded the right firehose loader for the Alcatel
Cingular.
If he has a backup from his system partition, I believe it is safer to just reflash the system with Miracle box etc. (He just needs the right firehose loader, which I understand is included in the available pack of loaders).
