Dear SCOPHeroes and EA enthusiasts,

I hope this email finds you well.

In recognition of World No Tobacco Day 2026, we are pleased to invite you to an international youth-led webinar titled “Unmasking the Appeal: Youth Counter Addiction and Demand Accountability.” The webinar will focus on how tobacco and nicotine industries continue to target young people through appealing products, digital marketing strategies, and industry interference, while highlighting youth-led advocacy efforts demanding stronger accountability and policy action.

The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at 12:00 PM GMT.

The session will bring together youth advocates and representatives from organizations including IFMSA, IPSF, ENSP Next, ASEAN Youth Organization, Youth in Action, and many others. We are also delighted to share that Gustavo H. N. Dalle Cort, IFMSA LPH, will be one of the speakers of the webinar, contributing with perspectives on accountability, liability, and the global impact of tobacco addiction.

During the webinar, participants will explore:

  • How tobacco and nicotine products are intentionally designed to attract youth
  • The role of industry interference in weakening tobacco control policies
  • Youth-led advocacy strategies and accountability mechanisms
  • Global perspectives on emerging nicotine products and addiction trends
  • Policy solutions aligned with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC)

We highly encourage all members interested in public health, advocacy, non-communicable diseases, and tobacco control to attend this important discussion and amplify youth voices calling for a tobacco-free future.

Best regards from a very sunny day in Ankara,

Arda, on behalf of SCOPH EA Family
