Dear SCOMEdians Worldwide;
Welcome to the MM26 SCOME Fairs, celebrating IFMSA’s 75 years under the theme “Youth Spark in Health.”
This year, we spotlight the power of youth-led change and the growing role of medical students in shaping medical education; today and beyond. The MM26 SCOME Fairs bring together different spaces where innovation, advocacy, and leadership in medical education come alive.
Designed as dynamic platforms, the MM26 SCOME Fairs invite SCOMEdians from all NMOs to share how students move beyond classrooms into roles as educators, advocates, innovators, and changemakers. Whether reshaping education systems, rethinking how skills are taught, or building strong national SCOME strategies, these fairs celebrate collective student action.
What’s new in this edition of the fair? Here’s what to expect!
1. SCOME Activities fair including
Medical Education Systems (MES) activities fair: From learners to Changemakers: Students Shaping Medical Education”
Teaching Medical skills (TMS) activities fair: “From Knowledge to skills: Through Student-led Initiatives.”
2. SCOME National Strategy Fair
What is the SCOME activities Fair?
A space to share stories, ideas, and impact. It brings together student-led activities from NMOs around the world, showing how students identify gaps in medical education, design meaningful activities, and turn ideas into real change. More than a showcase, it is a space for learning from each other, exchanging inspiration, and recognizing how education-focused activities can also be powerful tools for advocacy and system improvement. This Year, We have to 2 categories as aligned with SCOME Programs; Medical Education Systems (MES) & Teaching Medical skills (TMS) to spotlight student-led initiatives in different Scopes of SCOME
What to submit in the activities fair?
While activities enrolled and reported under SCOME Programs (MES & TMS) are strongly encouraged to apply, participation in the SCOME Fair is open to all activities, regardless of enrollment status.
However, we highly recommend enrolling your activity in the respective SCOME program to benefit from closer guidance, structured follow-up, and continuous support from the Program Coordinators, You can Enroll through this link
How will submission be evaluated?
SCOME Activities Fair submissions are assessed on how effectively they identify and address real gaps in medical education and medical skills teaching within their communities. Submissions are also evaluated on strategic planning, creativity and innovation, stakeholder engagement, student empowerment, and potential for scalable impact, recognizing initiatives that actively shape the future of medical education.
What is the SCOME National Strategy Fair?
SCOME teams continuously strive to strengthen medical education through structured advocacy and student-led action. The SCOME National Strategy Fair was created to highlight the strategic vision guiding these efforts. It serves a formal platform that provides SCOME Representatives and delegates with the opportunity to present their national structures, operational methods, activity management plans, and evaluation frameworks that guide the work of the Standing Committee on Medical Education within their NMOs.
Submission Evaluation criteria includes:
Contextualization and Relevance
Needs Assessment and Problem Identification
