Dearest IFMSA Family,
We are excited to announce the call for applications for the IFMSA Bylaws Reform SWG. This SWG will play a key role in reviewing, analyzing, and proposing improvements to IFMSA’s Bylaws to ensure they are coherent, clear, and fully aligned with the Federation’s Constitution and Articles of Association.
Purpose and Importance of the SWG:
The past AM25 General Assembly highlighted that IFMSA’s Bylaws are not fully coherent, efficient, or aligned with higher-level documents. Contradictions, overlaps, and redundancies create confusion, limit meaningful participation, and consume excessive GA time on technical corrections rather than substantive discussion. Inconsistencies also pose legal and credibility risks for the Federation. The SWG aims to comprehensively reform the Bylaws to ensure clarity, efficiency, and sustainable governance. Who Can Apply
We are looking for members with experience in governance, Bylaws, legal or structural reforms, or relevant thematic knowledge of bylaw provisions. Applicants should be committed to contributing actively to a collaborative process, and diversity in regional and professional experience will be prioritized. Alumni and current Team of Officials are also encouraged to apply in advisory or consultatory roles.
