Dear IFMSA family,

We are happy to share ScholarRx’s “Brick Builder Grant,” a program for students and educators who want to develop and share a new curriculum. This year, up to 100 grants will be awarded, each including:

  • $250 in funding

  • 1 year of free access to TAI (Teaching with AI)  and Rx Bricks digital library

  • ScholarRx support in creating and publishing open-access curricula

The ScholarRx Brick Builder Grant supports the development of shareable health sciences education curricula utilizing the Brick authoring platform. More details, including eligibility guidelines and evaluation criteria, are available on the Grant webpage [LINK]. All students, with a faculty advisor/reviewer, are invited to submit a grant proposal. The application deadline is May 8th, 2026, at 23:59 GMT -4, (May 9th, 3:59 AM GMT).

Since IFMSA is a MeSAGE partner, one spot is guaranteed to a qualifying applicant from IFMSA who meets all eligibility and evaluation criteria. Please note that this call is coordinated by ScholarRx, not by IFMSA; we are only sharing the opportunity.

What is ScholarRx?

ScholarRx is a mission-based organization of passionate medical educators, designers, and technologists dedicated to building a healthier world through accessible, sustainable medical education. ScholarRx offers a revolutionary, low-cost, multi-competency curriculum system featuring interconnectable learning modules called Rx Bricks. Through USMLE-Rx and the First Aid text series, ScholarRx provides high-stakes exam preparation for over 150,000 students and physicians each year. More about ScholarRx here [LINK}.

What are Bricks?

Rx Bricks is an innovative digital learning system designed to help students easily learn the foundations of medicine. Rx Bricks uses short, high-yield, interactive lessons called “bricks.” It is modular, flexible, and customizable. Content is broken down into the smallest cohesive learning units, or "bricks", and organized around basic science topics (e.g., pressure-volume loops) or clinical concepts (e.g., ischemic heart disease). Each brick uses clear language to explain and contextualize key topics, many in less than 20 minutes. Then it offers built-in review tools to test understanding of the content right away. You can find more details [LINK] to help you understand, along with examples of concrete bricks [LINK], including MeSAGE bricks.

*Student applicants are welcome with a faculty advisor/reviewer
