Dear IFMSA SCOME Family Worldwide,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving!

With great excitement, we are pleased to officially open the call for Facilitators and Participants for LOMEs Camp 2026!
If you are passionate about medical education, capacity building, and creating meaningful impact within your Local Committees, we warmly invite you to be part of this advanced and transformative online course.

1. Background
Local Officers on Medical Education (LOMEs) play a vital role within IFMSA as key drivers of medical education activities and advocacy at the local level. They are at the forefront of identifying educational gaps, coordinating initiatives, and translating global priorities into tangible local impact.

Following the success of the first edition in 2025, LOMEs Camp 2026 builds on previous experiences by introducing a more structured, competency-based, and practice-oriented approach. This edition is designed not as isolated sessions, but as a fully integrated learning journey that reflects the real responsibilities of LOMEs.

The training is structured into three progressive modules:
  • Level 1: The Builders (Programs & Activity Management): Participants will design and develop a complete, enrollment-ready medical education activity aligned with IFMSA Programs.
  • Level 2: The Communicators (External Affairs, Advocacy, Public Relations & Communication): Participants will build stakeholder mappings, advocacy plans, and communication strategies to ensure their activities are visible, impactful, and sustainable.
  • Level 3: The Strategists (Strategic Planning, Leadership, and Development): Participants will develop strategic approaches and finalize an integrated LOME Plan of Action tailored to their local or national context.
Through a gamified learning experience “Level Up: The LOME Experience” participants will progress across modules, earn experience points (XP), and build practical outputs step by step. A key outcome of the course is the development of a comprehensive LOME Plan of Action, integrating all learning components and ensuring real-life implementation beyond the training. This initiative reflects IFMSA’s commitment to sustainability, capacity building, and meaningful engagement, embracing the principle of “Think Globally, Act Locally.”
