Beyond the Cheer Campaign 2025

Dear IFMSA Family,

The festive season is here with us once again. But this time, aside the pomp, the celebrations and jingles, we pause to hold space for the emotions that quietly rest beneath the cheer.

We want to acknowledge, honor, and support those navigating mental-health challenges during this season — the memories of loved ones no longer with us, the moments of loneliness, or the weight of grief, anxiety and depression that can sit silently beneath the celebration.

The Memory Jar — A Space to Remember, Reflect, and Heal

We invite you to share a piece of your heart through our Memory Jar, a gentle corner of our campaign created to hold stories, artwork, messages, and reflections that mean something to you during this season.

You may submit: a short letter, a poem, a drawing or artwork, a message to someone you miss, a reflection on your healing journey, or a memory you want to honor. These submissions will be gathered and shared (anonymously) as Christmas Mental Health Messages — a reminder that no one walks their journey alone.

Alongside the Memory Jar, we will also host a warm and supportive webinar on 19th December 2025 at 15:00 GMT.
This session will include storytelling, reflections, and practical guidance for navigating emotional stress, grief, and loneliness during the holidays. We will also get to learn about the Environment and Health Aspect and its relation to the Festive Season.

As a global community, we carry many different stories — of hope, pain, celebration, and healing.

Beyond the Cheer Campaign 2025

Dearest IFMSA Family,

As the festive season approaches, joy and celebration often take center stage. Yet for many, this time also brings feelings of loneliness, grief, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm.

We are pleased to announce the Beyond the Cheer Webinar—a reflective mental health conversation that also explores the intersection between mental well-being and our environment, especially during the festive season.

Featuring Patricia (PC MH), Leyla (PC EH), and other speakers- Zahra, Sajid and Franscisca, this webinar will provide:

  • A safe space for honest reflection, storytelling and dialogue

  • Insight into navigating emotional challenges during festive periods

  • Exploration of how environmental factors influence mental health

  • Practical tools for self-care, peer support, and sustainable well-being.

We invite you to join us as we look beyond surface-level celebrations and choose empathy, awareness, and holistic health.

Together, let us hold space—for ourselves, our communities, and our environment—beyond the cheer

Memory Jar Submissions

 Because Everyone's Story Matters

As we anticipate the upcoming webinar, we also invite you to make submissions to the Memory Jar, a space where your heartfelt messages, pieces of art or other submissions as indicated in the form will be honored, compiled and shared within the IFMSA Network.

As a global community, we carry many different stories — of hope, pain, celebration, and healing.
This season, may we honor each story with gentleness, compassion, and solidarity.
