Hello colleagues! I hope you are all well on this cloudy April day!
A donor has offered his jazz collection to Brandeis, and I wondered if
any of you would be interested in his offer. Here's what he wrote:
I am interested in donating a very extensive collection of jazz records,
tapes, cassettes. The collection spans the jazz era from the blues,
through the early jazz era through the swing era. There are many artists
including Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. The collection stops at
the end of the 1940s.
I am looking to keep everything together and don't want it to be resold.
I want to donate it so it will be preserved. Can you please let me know
if that is possible?
I am from Buzzards Bay, MA, USA so I am expecting to drive there to
deposit the materials and finally deliver the collection to you.
Looking forward to a positive response soon.
Sincerely,
Jose
UMass Lowell has expressed interest in jazz collections in the past ,
but I don't know if they are still collecting in that area.
Please let me know if you're interested, and I will pass on your contact
info to the patron.
Many thanks!
Lisa
