Hello,

Does anyone have information about the project of purchase of a dirigible by the Belgian Army during WW1 ?
See the message below.
By the way, future exhibition about Astra-Torres dirigibles.

Many thanks in advance

Dear Yves.
Jean-Pierre Lauwers gave me your e-mail address and I attach tow articles we have published on Spanish airships designer Torres Quevedo's aeronautical contribution, one published in Revista de Obras Públicas (2002) and the second one in Historia de Iberia Vieja (2007)
Yo can see some of the many books we have published on Torres Quevedo's work
at
You can download more articles on Torres airships from:
And you can get more general information from:
I have one question I would like to ask you. Apart from "Ville de Bruxelles" (1910), Astra Co. built an Astra-Torres called "La Flandre" around 1916-17. It sounds to me as if it was ordered by Belgian Army but destroyed very soon during WWI.
Right now I'n engaged with a big exhibition to be held in November on the Conquering of the Air by Leonardo Torres Quevedo. I´ll keep you well informed of all we do and all we will do.
Best wishes.
Francisco
