HANDS-ON TRAINING IN BAMBOO CONSTRUCTION

HABITAT TECHNOLOGY GROUP is organizing a hands-on training program in Bamboo construction from 11^th to 15^th Dec 09 at Habitat Center for Training in Sustainable Technologies, Mudavanmugal, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India 695-012.

Lack of skills is the biggest problem which Bamboo construction is facing these days. Basic bamboo carpentry skills are essential even for the designers to be able to understand and design Bamboo buildings. This training program aims to give first hand experience in structural implementation of Bamboo in Construction for the beginners. Participants will go through a rigorous training in designing and constructing of various design elements like Truss, Beam, Column, Roofing and Wall in three different sessions for five days. The fourth, pre-dinner session for five days will be reserved for discussions, movies, local site visits etc. Trainees from all different disciplines with keen interest in Sustainable and eco-friendly construction are expected to attend.
