Dear All,

I would like to emphasize a few funding possibilities we could use that may not have been clear in the Iron Bridge Meeting. I just got back from a week-long workshop on these issues in Zajezka Ecovillage, Slovakia.

1. Grundtvig Learning Partnerships within the EU Life Long Learning programme
I didnt really understand about this programme before. If 5 partners in 5 countries create a "Learning Partnership" to learn from each other, each partner gets  24 mobility grants of 1000 EUR to finance exchange of adults during 3 years. The mobility grant is enough to pay travel and cost of living during a shorter or longer visit to another partner. Normally this is coordinated so one partner invites the other four partners to send people for a joint workshop. The workshop host would ask a workshop fee out of the participants'mobility grants. Why don´t 5 or more of us create a "Baltic Sea Transition Region Learning Partnership" to ensure continued exchange of adults?

2. Youth Initiatives under EU Youth in Action programme
I mentioned it already but this flexible funding allows youth to propose any type of youth project and it need not but can involve other countries. This funding has been used for a group of young people to build a straw bale house together during a summer. Or perhaps help young people to create a permaculture garden? There are many possibilities where you can facilitate people under 26 to do something they want to do.

3. European Voluntary Service, EVS under EU Youth in Action programme
Yes I did speak about this but I am even more convinced many of your projects would benefit from receiving or sending volunteers. We are arranging a network within GEN for ecovillages interested in Youith in Action which will be presented at the annual meeting. We would like to see young volunteers "screened" by ecovillages in their home countries to be sent by ecovillages to other ecovillages. Why not exchange youth within the Baltic Sea Region. Suderbyn will definately soon register itself to receive EVS volunteers.

That's all for now
Sunshine
Robert

Hi Robert and All,

At the beginnig let my introduce myself.

My name is Piotr Kamont. I represent Pomeranian Association >>Common Europe<< (PSWE) from Poland. With Magda Kowalewska we planned to participate in the workshop in Estonia. The evening before our flight there was information that the sky is open for flight, but at 4:30 a.m. on airport we got the information that the only cancelled flight was ours :(. I don't have to say you how disappionted we were.

I would like to share with you our experience about EVS program.

From 2009 we are certified hosting organization which means we are able to invite voluneteers to work with us. EVS cover all costs of volunteers stay (travel costs, accomodation, food and insurance). Volunteers are able to spend up to 12 months in hosting organization. Writting project proposal is quite easy. All you need to have is:
1. People (up to 35 years old) who are interested in participation in the project.
2. Sending organization from Your country.
3. Hosting organization from other country.

Both organization participate in writting project proposal. Sending organization has to fill III part of project proposal, sign activity agreement and send via fax to hosting organization.
Sending organization receive around 450 EUR per volunteer, so it is small but relatively easy money to get.

Dealine for proposals are at the end of quater (30.03, 30.06, 30.09, 31.12). Usually it takes around 3 months to aprove proposal, so for example we apply for deadline 30.03 and will host volunteers from the beginning of July.

If you or someone from your organizations would like to spend some time in Pomerania region working with us you are very welcome. Just let us know how many pepole and how long you would like to spend with us.

If you need more detalis please do not hasitate to contact me (pka...@pswe.org) or Magda (mkowa...@pswe.org).

Going back to your mail I would like to say that we are interested in participation of "Learning Partnership". Could you please provied more detalis about this program?

Thank you in advance.

Once again I would like to say that are very sorry that we are not able to participate the workshop, but I hope we will be able to create together many sucesfull projects.

At the very end I would like to let you know that 1th of September is deadline for LIFE+ projects:

Please let me know if you think that it could be a good start to work together on some nature conservation or raising awerness project?

Cheers.
Piotr
