Hi Everyone--

Our next BALTO event will be an encore session of talk on presentation
skills that Jeffrey Roach and I did at the ILTA conference last
month. Jeffrey will be here in person for a change, so don't miss
this one. If it's anything like the conference session it will be a
lot of fun. Just follow the link in the message below to register.

Hope to see you there,

Corby

The User Support Peer Group of ILTA, along with EncoreTech and Bay
Area Legal Trainers Organization, invite you to join us for an
exciting encore presentation from ILTA 09. This lively session is
being offered in San Francisco titled Engaging Your Audience: Creating
Persuasive Training and Presentations on Thursday, October 8, 2009.
Please see below for more details.

If you have colleagues in other firms or others within your own firm
who share your interest in the topic, please invite them to attend
with you. Nonmembers are always welcome at our events, and we're
hopeful they'll learn a little bit about ILTA from the experience.
There is no cost to attend, and there is much to be gained. Tell a
friend about the ILTA meeting!

Descriptions: With budgets tight and resources stretched
thin, it's harder than ever to get people to training and to keep
their attention when you do, so it is vital that you are able to
engage the interests of your audience and convince them of the value
of what you have to say. Whether you're conducting hands-on training
with a small group, creating e-learning materials or delivering a
presentation to a packed ballroom, it's not enough to simply provide
information. You also need to win them over to see that your ideas or
the tools you're teaching will benefit them. We discuss methods for
creating more effective presentations by targeting your message to
your audience, including interactive elements to maintain their
attention and engaging their emotions to win them over to your point
of view.

Bring your lunch and join us for
this lively educational session to learn strategies for creating
persuasive presentations and training materials that effectively
convey your hard-earned knowledge to your audience.

Presenter Corby Guenther is the Senior Technology
Training and Development Manager at Bingham McCutchen. He has been
