Hello everyone:
I just wanted to forward this along-- next month's meeting is a little
earlier than usual. Hope to see you there now that I can tell the
whole story of our assessments!

Target Audience: Training Managers, Trainers, User Support Managers,
User Support Personnel, HR Managers, Secretarial Managers, Firm
Administrators
Description: The process of planning and conducting secretarial
skills assessments can be long and painful. You need to figure out
exactly what skills you want to measure, determine what kind of
assessment you are going to use and deal with the emotions of
employees who are understandably anxious about the idea that they are
going to be "tested." But handled correctly, skills assessments can
provide a huge benefit to your training program by giving you hard
data about which skills your employees have already mastered and
whether the training you provide is effective. Corby Guenther will
speak about his experience conducting a series of assessments and
explain why he believes that skills assessments are worth the
substantial effort involved. Following up on a presentation he gave
last year after his firm's first round of assessments, Corby will talk
about how they handled follow-up training and conducted their second
round of assessments. He'll even share some aggregate results with you
to show you what kind of a difference assessments can make.
Presenter: Corby Guenther has been involved in teaching and
training his entire adult life. He has been at Bingham McCutchen
since 1998 and is currently the firm's Senior Technology Training and
Development Manager. He is also the organizer of the Bay Area Legal
Trainers Organization

When he's not at work he chooses to spend much of his time with
plants.
Thanks,
