Hi All--
Now's you chance to volunteer!
Despite a last-minute change of venue (and a couple of well-deserved
drinks) the BALTO group that met on November 15th managed to come up
with an impressive list of potential topics for next year's meetings.
I'd love to hear from you if you find any of these ideas particularly
interesting-- especially if you'd like to give a presentation on one
of these topics or can suggest someone who might be a good resource.
And by all means send me any other ideas that you might be interested
in. What we have so far is just a jumping off point and scheduling
any of them depends on my finding speakers.
The suggested topics were:
"Green" Initiatives in Law Firms
Adobe 8/ PDF(a) Format
Blogs/Wikis/Podcasts as Training Tools
E-Learning Tools and Resources
Email Archiving
Email Etiquette
Equipping Your Training Room
Making Your Firm's Intranet Work for You
New Hire Training
Offering Soft Skills/HR Training
Preparing for Office 2007 and Beyond
Professional Development for Trainers
Records Management
Secretarial Skills Assessments
SharePoint
Training Secretaries
Using Games in Training
Using Google's Tools
Creating a Firm "University": What Does it Mean?
Our next meeting will be January 17th (we will not be meeting in
December) when David Goldberg will talk about conducting remote
training for users in other offices. You can expect an invitation for
that in early January. In the meantime, send me your ideas. I'd love
to get some feedback.
Happy Holidays,
