Synch-Solutions (SSI) is a management and information technology consulting firm headquartered in downtown Chicago, Illinois.  SSI is seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

·         Apply proven business and analytical skills through the application of established frameworks, methodologies and processes  

·         Work with various end users to understand and document their current business operations

·         Facilitate or participate in JAD sessions or other formal information gathering activities

·         Conduct Fit/Gap analyses between current business processes and COTS application packages

·         Determine and document configuration values for COTS business application packages

·         Create appropriate written documentation for all levels of the business operational staff as well as IT staff

·         Participate in the documentation of BA processes including system functional requirements, workflows, etc.

·         Develop process and data models

·         (Preferred) Manage and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

·         (Preferred) Deliver training to end users

·         Provide production support to triage defect and enhancement requests.

 

Professional Qualifications & Experience

·         4+ years’ experience in business analysis and business process change  for information systems development

·         Public sector IT experience highly desirable

·         Experience analyzing and documenting system interface requirements highly desirable

·         Identifying, mapping and documenting business processes

·         Gathering requirements, conducting fit/gap analysis and presenting alternatives

·         Facilitating sessions or other formal information gathering activities

·         Proficient with Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint

·         Understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and updated releases

·         Demonstrated written communication skills in the form of business process and system requirement documents

·         Familiarity/experience with UML models and notations desirable

·         Proven record of achievement in project driven environments

·         Works well as a member of a distributed multi-disciplinary delivery team

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent education and experience
