RDF is a standard model for data interchange on the Web. RDF has features that facilitate data merging even if the underlying schemas differ, and it specifically supports the evolution of schemas over time without requiring all the data consumers to be changed.

It provides a standardized and precise way to make formal logical statements about domains, and can be the basis of logical inference, provide a queryable graph, and enable data integration.

I work for a company that does a lot in this space.

I'll go over history, theoretical background, the state of the art in regards to tools and standards.

Perhaps there will be a demonstration of an RDF graph manipulation library.

RDF is a super awesome way to model your data, while it might seem
like overkill for many applications which easily map to rectangular
formats (e.g. SQL tables) at first, it's incredibly valuable, and easy
to see how it is valuable, after the way it models knowledge bails you
out once. I'd definitely like to see this one since I am wagering
someone who does RDF for a living will be able to make me appreciate
it even more.

After reading around a bit, RDF sounds really cool.  I want to learn.
