Often there are contests that you can use to promote your idea.  You don’t have to actually win to get the big exposure that can make a project.  One of these showed up last weekend:

They solved the problem of colonizing the solar system in the 50's - 60's but people decided it wasn't worth the risk

I had a nice telephone call with with Mr. Kalil last Saturday.  I felt he was left with a positive feel for me and my project and he gave me two leads that I am now following up on.
