Anyone on the list have experience with fiberglass repair or know someone who can do it on the cheap? I need a little help with one of my arcade cabinets...

Thanks!

check with boat people,
some boat hulls are fiberglass,
though they may be a little busy this time
of year, prepping for good weather...

and Corvette owners ;-)

that was somewhat my fail-over.. i'd prefer to do the work myself but not sure if it'll be structurally sound...

was hoping someone here had done it or similar and could offer advice.

basically, one of the front edges has a compression type crack.. this wouldn't be much of an issue except that it's supporting a 29" CRT, and as it is, it flexes quite a bit when moved, and is generally bad looking.

the previous owner (from the amusement center it was in) opted to bondo over it then paint, and while i've removed both, I can clamp and patch the surface using epoxy and fiberglass mesh, then sand down, but wasn't sure if there was anyone who knew if this will resist the stresses of the tube...

eventually I'll need to get it repainted as the dang thing is black fibreglass with white gelcoat (usually applied during the molding, not paint)

If you have space, you may want to just epoxy in a metal support bar behind the area.
also sanding away fiberglass != fun times.
