Good morning. Please see the note below from
Sharon Guida who chairs the CVCA's "Land Use and Zoning Committee".
The CVCA is actively involved in evaluating the newly
City's newly proposed Live Entertainment Bill and assessing its potential impact
on the Charles Village neighborhood. Our letter opposing the legislation
as it now exists is attached. Councilman Jack Young has already responded
that he will keep our opposition in mind as the bill moves throughthe City
Council's process and notes that he has heard from others who supoprt the bill
and othes who, like the CVCA, oppose the bill.
The bill and its impact on Charles Village will be
discussed in more detail at our General Membership meeting on May 27th at
Margaret Berent Elementary School. We hope you will attend and share any
concerns you have. We very much want to hear from you now. Please
note that should this issue need to be brought before the membership for a vote,
only dues paying members will be allowed to participate in that vote. A
membership application is attached and will also be available at the May 27th
meeting. Community pot luck supper begins at 6:30 p.m. Business
meeting begins at 7 p.m.
