Adam, as I've mentioned in the previous emails between yourself and
Mike S.
I'm definitely looking to play a key role in the organizing,
execution, and ultimately
bringing this idea to life.
Since this email serves as an introduction to the rest of the
contributors to
the group, I'd like to say to all that I'm committed to making this
happen this summer.
I have tech event planning experience but I will say right away that
an event of this
magnitude requires a few people working on key operational areas and
even more
part-time volunteers for it to be done right. This will require us to
get the ball rolling
right away.
The first area to solidify is who would like to be a co-organizer, who
would like to
be a contributor, who would like to volunteer?
I've provided standard definitions of each role below.
An organizer can be defined as "Secure venue, media outreach,
sponsors, speakers,
conceptualize, strategize, deliver and be accountable.
A contributor can be defined as "I don't have the time to do any cold
calling, securing
venues, but the idea is great, and I'll post on my blog, design the
flyer, send out email blast,
take care of tasks that organizers can't handle etc.)
A volunteer can be defined as "Leading up to the event, I can be
available to help out in various areas
I don't have time to organize or contribute but I will spread the
word"
Please email the login info for the bmoreinteractive Twitter account
so I can start
scheduling some Tweets to get a buzz going.
Let's decide who wants to do what and then meetup. I would love for
this event to be hosted in Baltimore.
It's a LOT of talented professionals that live and work here.
