Anyword on the bar choice for the upcoming match vs. Costa Rica??

They haven't announced what channel it will be on yet, ( http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/05/midday-musings-notes-on-usacosta-rica-tv-info-mls-allstar-game-and-more.html ) but the game will be televised.

We had discussed a possible move to a new bar, but it's up to you guys.

James Joyce is tough because they have music every night usually starting around 9, so I doubt we will get anywhere with that.

 

Slainte will suck, but we can try...they have added TVs but we all know how they can be.

 

Alexander's was solid last time, that possible.

 

In terms of somewhere else, we can call around. Maybe upstairs at Claddaugh would cooperate. We can also consider Don't Know, its in Federal Hill, but they have a ton of TVs and I know the owners policy is that they always turn the volume on for the TV your watching. So, we could always try that out although we usually don't hit that side of the pond, but might be nice to switch it up.

Good News!

 

Someone who has a lot of influence over the management at Slainte has been pushing them to enroll in the official U.S. Soccer Bar Program, that would mean no more pushovers, they would have to give us TV, Volume, and a solid viewer experience. I think we should try to berate them, maybe a couple of us call over there on match day and ask for a manager, then ask if they are showing the game. That way when we get there at night, those yuppie fools who dont even watch footy wont give us the shit treatment.

I just emailed my contact at Slainte, I was honest with him about our past experiences but told him we want to call Slainte home. I basically said I would like us to get a nice welcome at the upstairs pub with volume for us to go mad. I'm sure he was unaware of our past experiences with the evening yuppie bartenders. I also know he is trying to become an official U.S. bar.

 

So I say we go for Slainte!

Alright, it’s decided then.  I’ll call them today to make sure they’re expecting us.

 

I think we should go ahead and let them know about Saturday the 6^th as well.  I won’t be there (Chicago!), but Saturday night games are always our big draws.  It’ll be less confusing to people if they get one e-mail letting them know we’ll be in both places.

Okay. When Will gets back to me, (he manages their facebook page) I'll let him know about Saturday. I will also see about Will advertising for us for Weds game, he might be willing to make a status update about Baltimore Brigade at Slainte Tonight to root on the yanks, or something of that nature.

 

This should be a good week for us. When Will hears about our past experiences I'm sure he'll go out of his way to make sure the upstairs PPL give us the proper welcome.

We want to promote US Soccer Events as Main Events!
You'll have TVs and Volume and Beer Specials (I'm workin on that)

Also Wednesday night @ 9pm is SIN (1/2 Off entire check)
