Dear Friends and Family:

 

I have a serious question for you. Please take a moment to really look inside the question I am posing for you to consider this: “What if, you discovered that you hold the key to the world’s destiny?”

 

Please allow that concept to sit with you for a moment, before reading further.

 

As you look at, and examine you inside this idea, this conversation, this reality, that you hold the key to the world’s destiny, what shows up for you inside that?

 

This is my personal conversation to and with you about who and what I have come to know you to be, the possibility and power I have seen you demonstrate, and the big ideas that you showed me. For that reason, because of whom you revealed yourself to be to me; I invite you, and yours, to join me for the 22^nd Annual International Black Summit Event in Birmingham Alabama, Thursday August 2, 2012 through Sunday August 5, 2012.

 

To be clear I have invited you and the approximately 300 emails (which are blind copied) to join me in this experience every year since my introduction to the experience in 2006 in Detroit Michigan, where the declaration “I am my vision fulfilled” was generated. Last year the event was in Chicago where the question generated was “What is available in life when I be with what is…what is the gift?”

 

So what is the International Black Summit (http://www.blacksummit.org/)? The International Black Summit is:

·         a Conversation that is being given by life, to the world, through people of Black African Descent,

·         An Exploration of Questions and Issues that empower participants to realize their vision for the Black community and the world.

·         A Place to Clear Yourself so as to be able to hear what life is telling you.

·         Acknowledgment, Praise and Celebration of who we are as a people and the contribution we are to the world.

·         A Global Shift in the Conversation about who people of Black African Descent are in the world.

The Purpose of the International Black Summit is to provide an opportunity for participants to bring into being their vision for the black community and the world.

 

Last year in Chicago, I was moved to tears to see my brother, my neighbors, my children, my wife and father in-law, my longtime friend, so many men that I asked to attend, my former colleges in education, my children’s former school mates now adults, and just so many new people and friends all in one room for that weekend sharing, engaging themselves and others to hear what life is telling them in the moment. You are important to me. That is why I continue to invite you.

 

Because of whom I learned you to be, know you to be, and because you allowed me to share who I am with you, my visions for the black community and the world, I invite you to join, rejoin shucks, just show up and see what happens me in Birmingham Alabama this year. And inside that invitation, if you never attended an International Black Summit Event before, if you have been away from the conversation for some time, or if you just need to get the distinctions back, I invite you to participate in an upcoming International Black Summit Prerequisite Course (http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e5nwxcyr8f6b9001&llr=7tnhpzn6) to be held in Chicago on Saturday, May 19, 2012; Time: 9:00am thru completion

What is the Prerequisite Course?

This one-day course will introduce you to or, if you've attended a Summit in the past, immerse you once again in the conversation of the International Black Summit. The purpose is to prepare you "to create the space of listening to people authentically" - a powerful tool for your life - and to prepare you to fully participate in the Summit.

This course will provide you with the Summit distinctions, the Summit questions, and with today's Summit conversation. The experience is one that you can use to become present to your vision and who you are being.

The space for this course is limited, and I have attached the prerequisite registration form for your convenience. Please fill it out and email or fax it back to me so that I may have a count of attendees. REGISTRATION TYPE: (RATES QUOTED IN US DOLLARS)
