Hi all,

Hope you all had a great time here in Lund and a safe trip back home.
It was really nice to have you all here, even if it was for a rather
short period.

Since we decided on taking action right away, I thought a new
discussion on how we progress would be in order. As promised, I have
uploaded both my presentation and the article from The Economist which
I referred to in my presentation. Those of you who are interested can
find it in the documents section.

Regarding to the Baltech SB Exchange program; I suggest that we take
final decisions on how/when we are going to introduce the extra
deadline. If I remember correctly we said that the extra deadline will
be until 1st of May. In that case it's only fair to give people about
a month, thus we should announce it in a couple of days (best case
scenario).

Here are some questions worth considering:
- How much money are we making available per group?
- For what purposes do we allow extra funds? (travel, accommodation,
extra trips to companies etc.. )
- Forms (aka paperwork): who's responsible in creating the documents?
Do we need new/extended guidelines, in that case who is taking the
bullet on that one?

Let us all know what you think!

Gloomy hugs from cloudy Lund :)

Dear all,

I would like to start this e-mail with a short introduction before getting to the main issue.

From our side once more I would like to say thanks to Ufuk for great days we spent in Lund! Although these days were quite intense, we really had great time in there! :)

And now back to the real issue.

We had a small discussion here in Riga about prior things related to BSB Exchange. And here is what we decided to propose:

The first thing that has to be done is announcement on extra money available to apply for those applicants who already submitted their applications till 20th March.

Second round for application can still wait a while.

But there are several things that have to be done before:

-          Gathering all application forms submitted.

Suggestion: please send all applications received from your university to liga.in...@gmail.com or balteche...@googlegroups.com ASAP!

-          Deciding on basis for this application: amount of money available, for what purposes this extra amount can be used, deadline for application ect.

Suggestion: We announce that there is extra money available for those who already submitted their applications. This money can be used only for improvement of exchange. (In case of Sweden it is a bit different) We cannot say that food and accommodation is prior for this extra funding as they should include this already in first budget when they applied! (I repeat that in case of Sweden it is a bit different)

As there are exchanges planned already in April the deadline should be as close as possible. We really cannot postpone this extra application till 1st May!! If we announce this application till the end of this week application deadline could be 11th of April. I think this is quite reasonable as the main program is already prepared and they do not have to fill application once more.

1st May could be reasonable deadline for second round of application!

I also agree that we should decide about amount of money after wards but still there have to be a limit if we are willing to make another round for application. I suggest 200 Euro.

-          Forms and information for this application

We (me and Juris) have already started working on this :) As Ufuk has mentioned the same budget form can be used, as well small form for explanatory statement. We will also prepare shot message about application process ect.

There is one more very important thing: report for the previous period of BSB Exchange. We could do this in Riga but I do not have all report from last year! As I remember we sent all report forms to Goda.

Goda: could you help in this matter. I would really appreciate if you could send them all to me ASAP!

Waiting for your comments!

P.S. Please use “reply to all” as we all are not in BSB Exchange googlegroup yet.

Best regards from Riga,

Liga

Hello!

So how many extra applications did we receive?
And when will we accept them while some exchanges are in the end of April?

Greetings from Tallinn,
