Description: Our Client, a Maryland based network engineering and consulting firm, has an extensive pedigree in the network engineering community.
Over 30% of their staff is CCIE certified with some of the earliest certifications in the country!
They have had a hand in building some of the largest network infrastructures in the United States. They have extensive experience with:
Network design (from conception through implementation, including large-scale routing protocol upgrades and network migrations
VoIP / Unified Communications design, deployment and troubleshooting
Network Security Firewalls, Intrusion detection, incident response and escalation, security policy articulation and compliance checking
Network performance evaluation and optimization
Troubleshooting
Infrastructure Project Management
They are seeking to build their expertise by adding several senior level CCIE (or similar level) Engineers with deep experience in one or more of the following:
Unified Communications
Network Security
WAN Routing / Switching

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED HERE?
My client seeks the best of the best, both technically and interpersonally. You will have to have leadership level domain expertise with Network Security and experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting network security for enterprise customers, as well as extensive experience in security configuration of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems) . Additionally, ideal components of your background could include:
- Experience with Cisco Security Agent, NAC framework, NAC appliance, IPS, ASA, FWSM, PIX
- Detailed understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
- Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, BGP) and layer 2 protocols and technologies
- Scripting experience with sh, csh, perl, python, awk
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools such as nmap, nessus, ettercap
- Certifications in any of the following are desired, not required. CCNP, CCSP, CCIE, CISSP, SANS GIAC, NSA IAM.

These positions require regional (DC/MD/VA) travel along with occasional out of region travel (well under 30%).
