Milan Miller’s name and work appeared on BR’s Marching Home CD with
his tunes Calloway County Flood and fan favorite, Burning Georgia
Down. Milan is a songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. Although
he grew up in Haywood County , he didn’t really know any of the guys
in BR personally - but now, well, he is a songwriting favorite of the
group!

Thanks to Kevin Duckett and jam sessions at his Haywood County coffee
house, Smoky Mountain Coffee Roasters, Buddy and Milan became friends
and eventually bandmates in the Nashville based group, Jubal Foster .
When the BR started putting together their first recording, Milan’s
name came up and the songs Calloway County Flood and Burning Georgia
Down were chosen. So it was no surprise when Milan’s Caney Fork
River, co-wrote with Waynesville native Patrick Bradshaw, appeared on
Last Train to Kitty Hawk.

The Caney Fork River flows through middle Tennessee and if you ever
travel down Interstate 40 in that area you will cross it a number of
times - hence the line “how many times must I cross Caney Fork
River?” The song is about a man traveling home after being gone for
quite some time - only to be surprised when he gets there. In the
end, it is story that comes full circle with a surprise for its
listeners as well!

Although BR has been playing it live for quite some time, they had
never captured it in a recording. It is a highly requested tune and
the guys are often ask for it on a recording. To listen to a sound
