Bobby Kennedy won't be able to go on the Austria trip as he is going to the Gaeltacht in August, it sounds like a fantastic trip and hopefully he will get to go on another one next year 

He wont be at scouts tonight as he is going to the Leinster Match, I know there is a lot of negative press about the Scouts at the moment but we have been involved with Scouts and Guides since 2006 and my children have had amazing experiences by being part of Scouting Ireland and Guiding Ireland  which is down to the huge commitment by so many volunteers so thank you so much for all that you do.

We are finally ready to announce that this years Annual Scout Camp will
be to Zellhof in Austria.  'Pfadfinderdorf Zellhof' is an International
campsite situated about 20 km north of the city of Salzburg, located
directly on the edge of Grabensee lake, one of the warmest bathing lakes
in the Salzburg area.

The camp will take place from Aug 3rd to the 10/11th, we propose to ship
all our gear including personal gear by pallet in advance and then we
will fly to Salzburg and transfer to site by Bus.

Zelhof was the destination of our older Venture Scouts in 2017 and they
loved it so much they are returning in July 2019. We are currently
planning the program for the week but expect to include some of these,
trips into Salzburg, to the Salt mines, to Untersburg and Keltenblitz
Toboggan Run. The Campsite is also on the edge of the Grabensee lake
which is a great place for swimming and water sports.

Unfortunately all this fun comes at a cost and this Annual Camp will
cost €550.  Adding to that figure all Scouts will need to get a vaccine
injection for 'Tick-borne encephalitis'(TBE) which will cost approx 150€.
This cost is based on at least 20 Scouts traveling. If parents are
willing to help we could possibly organise a fundraiser or two to try
and bring some of this cost down.

To proceed with this adventure we need you to let us know if you are
attending ASAP so we can secure the best price for flights, we ask all
parents to let us know by email before Friday Mar 8th if their Scout is
attending.

To Tom and All the Leaders,

After reading in the papers today about Scouting Ireland I would just like to express wholeheartedly how thankful I am for you all giving up your free time to show my son the wonderful world of scouting, and how it is turning my son into an independent, competent young man.

I have complete faith in everyone in the 14th Ballyroan, and am extremely thankful for the scouts group.

I will be writing a letter to both Katherine Zappone and Tusla Ireland re-iterating my above views.
