Wednesday & Friday: …at Billy Reed’s
Great dancing to Smooth Ballroom, Latin & Swing DJ music. All requests will be considered. $5. If you show your dinner receipt from Billy Reed’s for that night (minimum $10 food purchase per person) you can dance for Free.
If your passion is for a specific dance just tell the DJ that you are passionate about Country 2 Step, Polka or Argentine Tango or whatever and they will be sure that it is represented in that night’s play list.
Wednesday 6:30 – 9:00 PM Friday 7:00 – 10:00 PM
Brian will be your DJ for Wednesday & Friday this week
Your musical requests are always welcome.
With the price of gasoline being what it is many dancers are feeling the crunch. I can’t do anything about the price of gas except make sure if you drive to my dances you get as much as possible for you dollar.
Effective immediately:
Friday night dances which used to end at 9:30 will now go until 10:00 PM as long as dancers are still on the floor.
NO Partner…No Problem
Our Wednesday & Friday groups are pretty friendly. Even those who come as a couple are usually willing to dance with others. Ladies, if you want to dance more you are encouraged to ask the men for dances. Asking a leader that you don’t know but would like to dance with is quite acceptable but it is recommended that you only ask for one or two dances per leader per evening. If they enjoyed dancing with you then they will be back on their own. We will be doing a couple of mixers per night and a couple of “Ladies Choice” dances as well.
FREE ½ hour practice session Wednesday (6-6:30 PM) & Friday (6:30 – 7 PM)
Those of you who know me know that I am strongly against amateur teachers giving lessons on the social dance floor. You’ll notice that I said amateur because a professional wouldn’t do that. Likewise dancers giving unsolicited feedback or so called “Friendly Advice” to other dancers is just as bad. This practice session is designed to be a safe environment for those who would like time to practice a particular dance and possibly get feedback on their dancing. I will play a half hour of music of the genre du jour. If you come with your regular partner and wish to dance with that person for the session you may do so. If you come alone you may find someone to practice with. No guarantees of course because it will just depend on who shows up. You will be free to let your partners know whether or not you would like feedback or if you just want to practice dancing. This session is included with your regular dance admission.

There will be a memorial service for Don Lee this Friday, September 05 at 11:00 AM at Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church, 47-535 Hwy. 74 in Palm Desert 92260.
Let's give Don a proper send off and show the world that dancers take care of their own.
