About the Opportunity  

  1. Research Assistant - Assist with research on corporate law and governance issues. Key focus on India, Singapore and Hong Kong. 

  2. Teaching Assistant - Assist with teaching responsibilities in company law related subjects for drafting of course manual, research for the lectures, etc.


Duration and Time Commitment

  1. Duration - 3-6 months

  2. Time Commitment - Expected to dedicate 40-60 hours / month (i.e. 10-15 hours per week)

  1. Research Assistant - 4

  2. Teaching Assistant - 6

Eligibility

  1. Law students pursuing BA LLB, preferably students in 3rd, 4th, or 5th year (1st and 2nd year students may apply, however preference would be given to the senior year students)

  2. Desired (non-mandatory) skills / attributes - 

  1. Top 10% of the batch in terms of academic rank.

  2. Prior research and publication experience. 

  3. Prior knowledge of corporate law.

The perks for the vacancies are non-monetary in nature. The researchers may seek benefits such as research / authorship credits as the case may be, law-school and corporate law mentorship, and possibly an academic/professional letter of recommendation.

Commencement Date for Roles

  1. Research Assistants -  As soon as possible. 

  2. Teaching Assistants -  July 2025.

About our Past RAs

Since 2020, over 1,000 students from over 50 universities have applied for various research positions under Ms Garg and over 150 students have been selected to work as RAs. The students, either on their own or along with Ms Garg, have had research selected for publication in Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal, The Wire, LiveMint, The Financial Times, IndiaConLawPhil blog, IndiaCorpLaw blog, Bar and Bench, Indian Express, Berkeley Journal of International Law, Columbia Rights View blog, Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal, IBBI Annual Publication. Once a group of RAs was selected, along with Ms Garg, to attend an international conference at IIM Ahmedabad. 

During the research initiatives, the students also received research input/guidance from national and international experts such as faculty members/alumni/professionals at the University of Harvard (US), Columbia University (US),  Trilegal (India), South Asian University (India), University of Stockholm (Sweden), Doughty Street Chambers (UK),  PwC (New York, USA), New York University (US), University of Cambridge (UK), Maitland Chambers (UK), University of Chicago (US), University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa), SOAS University of London (UK), Montclair State University (US), Pacific University (US), Virginia Commonwealth University (US), Grogan Margaret (US), University of Missouri-Kansas City (US), University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) and One EssexCourt (UK).
