To,
The Vice Chancellor,
Dr. RMLNLU.
Respected Sir,
We on behalf of the students of Dr. RMLNLU are submitting this representation before you. Considering the situation that have ensued in last 48 hours in the college, it is brought to your notice the following things, on all of which we want immediate redressal:
That the students do not have ‘examination-phobia’. The students of RML who qualified CLAT for entering this college and would be writing UPSC/ Judiciary/ CLAT-PG/ and other competitive exams in next years cannot ever have an issue in writing any examination.
That till now we have 9 confirmed students who have been tested positive for Covid-19. The number of such persons are bound to be more if more people are tested in the coming days. We cannot understand as to why college administration which seals the college when one faculty/ administration authority gets infected, has turned deaf on students’ legitimate concern.
That the persons who have been tested positive are in close contact with other students by way of using common washrooms and eating together in mess and therefore, there is every likelihood that more persons than reported are covid positive and are in risk of being as a close contact with positive ones. Everyday, some students are testing positive and students in close contact with them are looming in threat of getting infected with virus, thereby seriously affecting their mental health.
In view of the above, now as a future course of action, we have following demands:
We are not averse to offline examination. But the present situation is not conducive for the same. Examination should be held only once situation normalizes completely.
In our representation yesterday, we were told that the aforementioned view and demands are not the view of the majority. While the number of students who skipped examination yesterday demonstrates otherwise, the student community of Dr. RMLNLU would be willing to assemble in front of academic block after 5:30 PM following all COVID norms (allowing for head count).
Everyone should be quarantined as per the government guidelines. Thereafter, there must be mandatory Covid-testing of each student. The student who tests positive may be isolated and the one who tests negative should be allowed to go home, so as to avoid RMLNLU becoming a hotspot.
We sincerely hope our demands are met with and we expect quick response from your end.
Regards,
Students Community, RMLNLU
