About our Initiative: "Law-Learning from International/Indian Practitioners and Intellectuals (LIPI)"

Under the LIPI Initiative, both the NGOs, either individually or in collaboration, offer carefully tailored/unconventional courses in the field of corporate/commercial laws or public laws to the law students hailing from various reputed universities.  This initiative, like our NGO, is 4 months old. 

The courses we have offered/intend to offer have ranged from procedural laws, company law, contract and property law, law revolving around fin-tech and startups to the course dealing with environmental litigation. 

In the last four months, about 250 students from the following premium Indian universities (over 25 in number) have registered for our courses:  NLSIU, NALSAR, NUJS, NLIU, NLU-J, GNLU, SLS, DBRANLU, MNLU, TNNLU, HNLU, Amity, IP University, RGNUL, Delhi University, RMLNLU, ICFAI, NLUO, AMU, Christ, NIRMA, GLC Mumbai, NMIMS, ILS Pune, Jamia Millia Islamia and NLU-D among others. 

The faculty members who have offered it include myself and alumni of Oxford BCL (including Gold-Medallist at Oxford BCL)/Harvard LLM and Rhodes Scholar. Further, in the past, faculty members/practitioners from Harvard Law School, University of Cambridge and UChicago and practitioners from Maitland Chambers (UK) and One Essex Court (UK) have delivered/agreed to deliver pro bono guest lectures to our students.

Who Should Register:  

  • Those keen on learning procedural law or public law for:  
    1. corporate/litigation internships or upcoming corporate placements, especially in the dispute resolution teams 
    2. building career in public policy/academia/litigation
    3. preparing for competitive exams such as judiciary, Supreme Court law clerkship, APO exams 
    4. understanding a subject at the early stages of law school (especially if any of these courses is offered in the advanced years of your law school), say for securing better internships or for writing blogs and papers in the commercial law subjects 
    5. for overall understanding of the subject for learning purposes
    6. revision purposes and making notes for lifetime 
    7. developing an out of the box and in-depth understanding, for instance, for applying for a master's abroad

Additional Information:

a) Courses will be covered in entirety; in case of advanced-level courses, brief and basic videos would be shared in advance should a need for felt for the same

b) In case of refresher courses, we will begin from basics, hence, the name "refresher" course

c) Recording would be made available for all the classes 


Added Incentives:

Those completing the course successfully would be issued a completion certificate and exceptional candidates may also be awarded a letter of recommendation for miscellaneous purposes and may be selected for our research work and internships at The Corporate House or We, the Humans.
