Dear students,

It is for your information.

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has been conducting research in various areas of law and has made necessary recommendations to policymakers since its establishment. Over the past five years, NLSIU has also been fighting the abuse of tobacco and its easy accessibility by conducting training programs for law enforcers and undertaking research on tobacco control laws and policies. This year we are assigned to undertake research on “Young Adult Perceptions of Tobacco Issues and Policies in India”. The aim of this study is to analyze the prevalence of tobacco in workplace or public place and to know how often the general public are the victims of secondhand smoke at such places and further aims to suggest policy changes based upon this study.

With this intent, we are looking forward to collecting first-hand information for the purpose of research through a survey and being able to achieve the aforesaid objective. The survey is completely anonymous and no personal identifying information will be collected. Only demographic information concerning age, gender, and the city will be recorded.

In this regard, I hereby request you to fill out the survey. The survey is mobile-friendly and can take less than 5 minutes to complete.
