Hello everyone-
I hope you're faring as well as anyone's faring in this strange, dark time we're all living through. And I hope you like awesome music, because I have some for you.
This is the first time in 15 years that I have not put on a live, in-person show to celebrate a new volume of
Ball of Wax, but I am doing the next best thing: Collecting artists from Seattle to Toronto, from L.A. to Ruskin, FL, to perform live for you on the
Ball of Wax Facebook page! In some ways this is even better, because it means I can have a show with longtime BoW artists who have never played one of our release shows (like Darryl Blood and Green Light Cameras), as well as brand-new artists from farflung places, like Phoebe Tsang and Vir(us). We've got a bunch of locals, too. It's gonna be a hoot.
The other bonus, of course, is that you can watch it from anywhere in the world, and if you miss it while it's happening, you can watch it later on the
Ball of Wax Facebook page!
Are you sold yet? Just wait til you see the full lineup:
Saturday, August 1, 6pm PDT (West coast USA time)
with
Green Light Cameras, Great Unwashed Luminaries, Phoebe Tsang, Vir(us),
Too Tired to Say Anything, Darryl Blood, Amy Denio, Black Ends, Sun Tunnels, Seth Howard, Danbert Nobacon . . and probably more!
See you there! (Just kidding, I won't see you unless you're playing, because that's not how it works. But I hope you see us.)
-Levi
PS: Next Friday, August 7th, is the next Bandcamp Friday, when Bandcamp takes no fees and artists get all the money you pay for their music (except for whatever Paypal takes, because they're not as cool as Bandcamp.) Almost everyone linked above - and many more of the contributors to Ball of Wax 60 - has music on Bandcamp. Go buy some music!
