Hello everyone-
How are you doing? I mean, really? (I honestly always mean that question when I ask it, but even more so these days. Feel free to ignore the rest of this email and just reply letting me know how you're doing.)
So, in the midst of all of these huge, earth-shaking goings-on we're collectively going through,
this little quarterly compilation series I started back in two thousand ought five will soon be releasing its 60th volume and completing its 15th trip around the sun. The 60th volume - which I am currently in the midst of selecting tracks for - will be a hell of a thing: 60 tracks, each of which will be exactly 60 seconds long. I don't want to say any more, but it's going to blow your mind. Of course, normally we would have a big exciting live show as a way of celebrating - and as a way of getting a few bucks into the
Ball of Wax coffers to keep this thing chugging along - and of course we're not doing that now or any time soon. I'm holding out hope that we can do
something internet-based and cool, but who knows. What I do know is that there will be a collection of 60 pieces of music coming very soon, and I would love to get it in your hands and ears, and I would also love to have some money to help make that happen.
Right now - and until
Ball of Wax 60 comes out -
new subscribers will get the entire online discography of Ball of Wax Audio Quarterly when they subscribe! That's
volume 1-4 (and any more back volumes I add in the coming months/years) and
volumes 25-59 (and the next three volumes)! That's . . . a lot of music! You can choose physical or digital-only
subscriptions, and if the super-low rates leave you uninspired,
you are more than welcome to pay more!
Bonus: Pretty much every penny received through
Ball of Wax subscriptions or
sales will go to either
a local audio professional who provides philanthropically affordable mastering services, the
local small business who burns the
Ball of Wax CDs, or the
United States Postal Service. Heroes all.
You're my heroes. Thank you for reading this far (and, really, how are you doing?).
Love,
Levi
