Namaste All,
With less than one month to go before the
Ganesha Chathurthi festival which would be celebrating on 15th September, I would like to provide an update to my earlier mail sent out on 14th July.
IN response to my request for volunteers for organizing the event, I received some limited response. The following persons reached out to me offering to volunteer:
Sri. Antariksh Bharadwaj
Sri. Radhakishore Gurumurthy
Sri. Sankar Lakshminarayanan
Sri. Dhineshram
We have the following activities to cover:
1. Purchase of Pooja items, as per the Purchase List
2. Organizing the Idol (to be transported from SBI on the previous evening)
3. Cleaning of the Pooja venue on the previous evening
4. Decorating the Pooja Murthy on the morning of the Pooja
5. Assisting during the course of the Pooja (especially in performing the Abhishekam, where several Dravyams will be involved)
6. In serving lunch and prior to that, organizing the food counter
In addition to the above, we would also need a separate food committee to plan the pot-luck menu and to decide who cooks which item. I would like to specially request the ladies in the group to reach out to Smt. Malathi, Smt. Manu Karthik and Smt. Krithika Sankar for this
Considering all of the above, we would require more volunteers to come forward
Also, since we are planning to have a pot-luck lunch this time, we would need to know the exact number of participants in order to estimate the quantity of food to be prepared
Looking forward to a larger response from one and all
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
With warm regards

Namaste All,
Om Gam Ganapathaye Namah !!
It is festival time and time to welcome Lord Ganapathi again in our midst.
The Ganesha Chathurthi festival falls on Thursday, 13th September this year and as has been our custom, we will have the public celebration on the following Saturday, which happens to be 15th September.
The Venue will be the Art of Living Happiness Center in Bornheim
We will follow the time-tested format as given below:
1. Kumbha Aavaahanam and preparation of the Abhisheka Jalam
2. Abhishekam with nine or twelve Dravyams
3. Ashtotharam Archana with flowers
4. Ganapathi Homam
The entire Pooja will take approx. 3 hours, so we plan to start fairly early in the morning, at 0900 AM
Keeping in mind the space available at the venue and also the other limitations, we would like to limit the number of participants to not more than 75. Also, we have to rely on a pot-luck lunch for the Prasadam distribution after the end of the Pooja
As has been the custom in the previous years, we would like to call for volunteers who will work in planning and organizing the event and in taking charge of the various activities that go into the celebration
I will share updates on a regular basis once I have the names of the first set of volunteers
Looking forward to an energetic and enthusiastic response from one and all
Om Gam Ganapathaye Namah !!
